Lunar Cycles build stylish, lightweight bicycles. We source vintage steel road frames to produce bikes which are lighter, stronger and more comfortable than those made with modern aluminium-alloy hybrid frames. After being stripped of all extraneous lugs and tunnels, these classic period frames are shot-blasted and powder coated before being painted to order. Each of our bikes is hand-built in our workshop by adding modern state-of-the-art components to the selected frames. Our optional hand-built wheels feature flip/flop rear hub which gives the cyclist choice of riding fixed or free wheel single speed. We also fit vari-speed, internal geared rear hubs for those who live near hills! Engineering the elegantly simple machine demands attention to detail, detail that makes every Lunar Cycle a fast, comfortable, durable and practical, stylish velocipede. The cost of a Lunar-cycle starts at around £400, depending on variables such as Lunar hand-built wheels, leather saddles. The bicycles shown in this section are a guide to what we do, and we can re-create them to order, or work to any design brief given to us.
